For twenty years, I have helped executive leaders and board members transform nonprofit organizations.I help leaders create organizations where people love coming to work, where fundraising is fully embraced, and where board members are deeply engaged.
Before becoming a consultant and coach, I held positions with responsibility for strategic planning, fundraising, event strategy and planning, alumni and community relations at a wide range of organizations including a grassroots domestic violence agency, Habitat for Humanity, Clackamas Community College and Willamette University. In addition, I helped create the curriculum and launch two community fundraising certificate programs, developed and taught graduate courses in fundraising and organizational strategy at the University of Portland and Portland State University, and played a significant role in rebooting Portland State’s Nonprofit Institute.
My team and I at Varga Consulting have supported organizations with campaign feasibility studies, capital campaign strategy and counsel, developed development plans, analyzed and recommended fundraising growth areas, designed donor stewardship programs, written and designed direct mail campaigns, led board retreats and trainings, and coached executive leaders at over 30 organizations including Portland Community College Foundation, the United Way of the Columbia Willamette, NW Housing Alternatives, Make-A-Wish Oregon, Salem Art Association, 1,000 Friends of Oregon, De La Salle Catholic High School North, and Friends of the Children.
